Art books, photobooks and illustrated editions vary considerably in size, weight and construction. A compact softcover, an oversized monograph and a slipcased collector’s edition do not require the same kind of packaging.
We therefore prepare every parcel individually for the order it contains.
Before the book is placed in its outer packaging, it is wrapped in protective bubble wrap. This helps protect covers, corners, edges, dust jackets and slipcases from rubbing and impact during transport.
Delicate, unusually heavy or specially constructed editions receive additional protection where necessary.
The wrapped book is placed in a sturdy cardboard book mailer or shipping box selected according to its dimensions and weight.
A rigid flat mailer may be suitable for a standard single volume. Larger, heavier or more vulnerable books may require a deeper box and additional cushioning.
Where space remains around the book, it is filled with suitable cushioning, including biodegradable packing chips when appropriate.
This keeps the book in position and prevents it from moving freely inside the parcel during transport.
The package is closed securely and reinforced with paper tape, particularly around the opening and exposed edges.

Dispatch
Orders are dispatched from Karlsruhe with DHL or UPS. The carrier is selected according to the destination, parcel dimensions, weight and available shipping service.
