Paris-based archive publishing by Shinzo Noda

Masala Noir is an independent publishing project founded in Paris by Shinzo Noda. Its editorial scope is documentary: each title sets out to record a specific category of image material or printed matter that has received little systematic attention elsewhere. The publications are small in format and focused in scope, built around a single subject rather than a broad survey.

The books function primarily as visual indexes. Subject areas include vintage graphic design, counterculture graphics, logo archives, sticker collections, record-related printed matter, and other categories of printed ephemera. The approach is archival and classificatory — the work is concerned with documentation and inventory rather than interpretation or aesthetic argument.

Masala Noir titles are available at Lokator100 and dispatched from Germany with tracking.
