About the Book
ICONS vol.1 introduces a new illustration series by Shintaro Kago, presenting color portraits of figures who left a mark on culture and history. Printed at 21 × 29.7 cm with French flaps, this 52-page softcover collects Kago’s precise line and pastel palettes into focused, single-image compositions. Known for pushing ero-guro and surreal narrative devices, Kago shifts here toward emblematic images while retaining anatomical detail, visual puzzles, and deadpan humor. Recommended for readers of contemporary Japanese illustration, avant-garde manga, and graphic art monographs.
