Collection: Nobuyoshi Araki
Nobuyoshi Araki (b. 1940, Tokyo) is one of Japan’s most influential and controversial photographers. With a prolific output of over 500 photobooks, Araki’s work spans eroticism, intimacy, cityscapes, bondage, and personal diaries. His practice combines raw spontaneity with formal experimentation, often blurring the lines between art and autobiography. His key works include Sentimental Journey, Tokyo Lucky Hole, and Theater of Love. Araki’s photographs are held in major museum collections worldwide, including MoMA and the Tate.
