About the Book
Bright Lights and Cats with No Mouths presents the extraordinary graphic work of John Balance, co-founder of the legendary experimental group Coil. With contributions by Val Denham and Jeremy Reed, the volume offers a glimpse into the inner life of an artist who reshaped the underground with both his sound and his imagery. This hardcover edition is published by Timeless and comes in limited circulation.

About the Author
John Balance (Geoffrey Laurence Burton, 1962–2004) was a pioneering British musician and artist, best known as a founding member of Coil. His visual work, like his sound explorations, is rooted in the esoteric, the erotic, and the surreal. Alongside Peter Christopherson, he created some of the most influential post-industrial music of the late 20th century. This book collects much of his previously unseen artwork for the first time.
