Grey Cards by Richard Kern brings together the notorious "grey card" photographs, presented exactly as they came out of the camera — unedited and raw. This first edition of 500 copies spans 252 pages, showcasing both candid and posed images that provide a unique insight into Kern's practice as a photographer and filmmaker. Known for exploring the darker and more complex sides of human nature, Kern uses these images to question notions of truth and objectivity in photography. Printed with a Colorplan grey stock cover and a tipped-in grey card, this softcover book is a collectible object for fans of contemporary photography and subversive art.

About Richard Kern

Richard Kern is a New York-based photographer and filmmaker whose work explores the complex and often darker sides of human nature. For over two decades, Kern has focused on the psychological space between subject, photographer, and audience. His photographs and films have been exhibited at MoMA, The Whitney Museum, and in over 50 solo shows worldwide. Kern is a regular contributor to magazines such as Interview, Vice, Dazed, and Purple, and has published 34 books to date.

Packaging & Shipping

We pack books to arrive in the condition described: protected corners, rigid backing, paper cushioning, and a sturdy outer package. Heavier or collectible editions receive an extra layer of protection. Any defects are documented on the product page—packing doesn’t hide condition, it reduces transit risk.

We ship from Germany, usually on the next business day after payment. Germany: typically 2–5 business days, EU: often 3–7 business days; international depends on destination and customs.
