About the Book

Industrial Revolution and World War by Shintaro Kago is a provocative manga exploring the absurdities of modernity through a dystopian lens. Originally published by Hollow Press and now in its 11th printing, this 32-page volume blends grotesque humor, body horror, and sharp critique of consumer society. Combining full-color covers with a soft spine and hardcover format, this A4 edition features an insightful foreword by James Harvey. Known for his “Ero Guro” (erotic grotesque) style, Kago exposes the mechanized dehumanization of civilization and the disturbing parallels between mass production and human behavior.
