Leyre — A Lore Game Book by Nicolò Pellizzon
Leyre is a Lore Game Book (loreGB) by Italian artist Nicolò Pellizzon, published by Hollow Press in October 2024. The loreGB format sits at the intersection of graphic narrative and gamebook structure — a hybrid form that Hollow Press has developed to carry dense world-building through image and text in equal measure.
The book is set in a decaying empire haunted by the absence of its rulers. The Twin Empresses, suspended in the Putrescent Slumber, linger as spectral presences over a population caught between loyalty, conspiracy, and the dissolution of waking reality. Dream and nightmare are not metaphors here — they are the operative logic of the world, shaping political fate as directly as any waking act.
Pellizzon's illustration work carries the full weight of this atmosphere. His imagery draws on myth, psychological allegory, and a visual grammar rooted in surrealist tradition, producing pages that function as narrative and as autonomous image. Printed in full color across 80 pages, the physical object reflects the same care: UV spot hardcover, stitched binding, 17 × 24 cm format. The edition is limited to 1,000 English copies.
