Sacra — An Illustrated Chapbook by Sean M. Huber

Published by Infinity Land Press in May 2023, Sacra is a text that moves through ruin, judgement, and sacred dread without softening any of it. Huber's voice is severe and elevated — a proclamation made after the collapse, holding fear, death, and the body's finitude as its primary material. The book sits at the intersection of poetry and Critical Theory & Philosophy, treating the sacred not as comfort but as dread.

The physical object reinforces the register of the text. Sacra is softbound, sewn, and finished with flaps — a construction that gives the chapbook a deliberate, archival weight. Karolina Urbaniak's collages operate on a forensic logic: fragments, traces, and arranged evidence assembled as though from a crime board. The images do not illustrate the language. They apply pressure to it, clarifying what the text already insists upon.

For readers who collect small-press literature, Sacra functions as a compact artefact — precise in its dimensions, controlled in its design, and resistant to casual reading. It rewards slow attention. It keeps its distance, and that is the point.
