The Princess of the Never-ending Castle is Shintaro Kago’s first long-form manga narrative: a single, continuous story built around the science-fiction idea of parallel worlds. In this Pocket Edition, the book keeps the full content while shifting to a smaller, more portable format.
The work is defined by Kago’s formal experiments with comics language. Panels are treated as architecture, and the storyline folds into recurring variations and historical distortions. The tone is satirical and grotesque. It includes explicit sexual imagery and splatter violence, presented as part of Kago’s broader deformation of genre.
Translation note: this edition features a new English translation, with translation editing by Paul Gravett.
