Traumavision is Pierre La Police’s artist edition of invented Z-movie nightmares—compact, full-color, and published by éditions Cornélius.

About Traumavision

Traumavision by Pierre La Police is built from two engines: obsessive cinephilia and private nightmares. The book invents imaginary Z-movies—films that never existed, yet feel like artifacts from a parallel VHS shelf. It reads like a catalogue of feverish posters and plots, where genre clichés are pushed past logic into abrupt, comedic violence.

The tone is deliberately excessive. Pierre La Police imagines “masterpieces” that could have been made by filmmakers at their most unhinged, mixing exploit cinema fantasies with cartoon brutality. A reference point offered by the publisher is the impossible film Russ Meyer might have produced if he had shot with Bruce Lee, a few dwarfs, and a lot of blood. Traumavision keeps that promise: surreal set-ups, pulp energy, and images that feel both naïve and strangely precise.

As an éditions Cornélius artist edition in the Collection Sergio, this is a compact object with high impact. The format is square, the printing is in color, and the book moves quickly—more like a burst transmission than a conventional narrative. It is also no longer available in bookshops, which makes this copy especially relevant for collectors of Cornélius and French underground illustration.

About Pierre La Police

Pierre La Police is a French artist and cartoonist known for deadpan absurdity, pop-culture sampling, and a graphic language that treats mass entertainment as raw material. His work often borrows the surface codes of cinema, pulp, and illustration—then rewires them into short, sharp sequences that oscillate between humor and discomfort. Published by éditions Cornélius, his books sit close to the tradition of French underground comics and artist editions that privilege tone, rhythm, and visual sabotage over classic storytelling.

We pack books to arrive in the condition described: protected corners, rigid backing, paper cushioning, and a sturdy outer package. Heavier or collectible editions receive an extra layer of protection. Any defects are documented on the product page—packing doesn’t hide condition, it reduces transit risk.

Tracking is included for all services and is provided once the parcel is handed over to the carrier. During peak periods, transit times may extend. See the Shipping Policy.
