About the Book

When We Are Human: Notes from the Age of Pandemics by John Zerzan is a powerful critique of technological civilization and a philosophical exploration of what it truly means to be human in an age shaped by pandemics and systemic collapse. As a leading voice in anarcho-primitivist thought, Zerzan draws from biology, sociology, history, and literature to trace the roots of alienation, control, and ecological degradation. This book urges readers to reimagine life beyond industrial society and reclaim authenticity, autonomy, and connection with the natural world. A timely and thought-provoking read for those questioning progress, modernity, and the post-pandemic future.
