Age of Rot Lore Game Book is a compact worldbuilding volume set in a land where decay rules. Instead of fixed rules, it offers tone, fragments, and usable prompts: broken legends, cryptic dialogues, and short scenes that sketch doomed kingdoms, forgotten cults, and travellers caught between survival and surrender.

Across 80 full-color pages, Strange House builds a grim visual grammar—ruined fortresses, fungal thrones, pale saints, and relics eaten by time. The result reads like a portable dark fantasy worldbuilding book and a system-agnostic RPG supplement, useful at the table or as standalone reading.

Hollow Press produced this 2025 reprint as a collectible softcover edition with careful finishing: offset full-color printing, and UV spot on the cover. Limited to 3000 copies, it sits between art book, zine, and game-table toolkit—precise, bleak, and deliberately incomplete.

About the Author

Strange House is the working name of illustrator Joonas Ryynänen, known for dense, grim dark fantasy imagery influenced by black metal aesthetics and obscure folklore. Under the Strange House moniker, he has developed a body of work that combines meticulous line-work with stark, symbolic scenes of demons, ruined temples and haunted landscapes.

With Age of Rot, Strange House shifts this visual language into the format of a lore game book, focusing on worldbuilding rather than linear narrative. The project balances short prose fragments and game-adjacent prompts with stand-alone drawings that can function as encounters, artefacts or legends in their own right.
