Parasite Moon Orchestra is the first book by Spanish artist Ghaaro, published by Hollow Press as a controlled debut rather than an introduction. The story moves with decadent poetics and a rhythm that feels orchestrated: dense, directional, and deliberately stylized. Visually, the book sits between industrial architectural weight and erotic-grotesque detail—often compared to the tension between Tsutomu Nihei and Suehiro Maruo, without becoming a pastiche.
The edition is produced as an object. Printed in A5 on 90g Munken paper, Parasite Moon Orchestra is a 136-page softcover with a dust jacket and stitched binding. The cover features hot-foil printing, while the interior is black-and-white offset. This is the first printing (March 2025), limited to 1,000 English copies.
Credits include editor Michele Nitri, graphic design by Nicola Alessandrini (supervised by Marco Cirillo Pedri), English translation by E. R, and Italian translation by Salvatore Privitera. For readers collecting contemporary underground comics and carefully produced small-press editions, Parasite Moon Orchestra is built to be kept: compact, sharp, and materially precise.
Ghaaro is a Spanish comics artist whose work blends heavy environments with ornamental grotesque, pushing narrative into a visual register that feels closer to composition than illustration. The debut Parasite Moon Orchestra presents that method at full density: a world built through texture, controlled contrast, and an insistence on atmosphere as structure. In the context of Hollow Press, Ghaaro’s book reads as a self-contained specimen—designed, printed, and edited to function as a collectible first statement.
