About the Book

Rites & Ceremonies of South East Asia Vincent Peal — photobook overview

Rites & Ceremonies of South East Asia follows a year-long photographic route from Indonesia to Japan and onward via the Trans-Siberian Railway. The book concentrates on rituals in which the body, pain, devotion, and public performance are held together within structured ceremonial forms.

The sequence is built through direct observation rather than distance. Tatung rituals in Borneo, Thaipusam in Malaysia, and cremation rites on the banks of the Ganges appear not as isolated spectacles but as part of a broader visual study of belief, sacrifice, and spiritual intensity.

Tracking is included for all services and is provided once the parcel is handed over to the carrier. During peak periods, transit times may extend. See the Shipping Policy.
