Vermis I – Lost Dungeons and Forbidden Woods by Plastiboo is a dark fantasy Lore Game Book masquerading as a guide to a non-existent video game, filled with monsters, ruins, and occult lore.
About Vermis I
Vermis I – Lost Dungeons and Forbidden Woods is a compact, full-color Lore Game Book that presents itself as the official guide to a video game that was never made. Drawing on vintage dungeon crawlers, dark fantasy illustration, and surreal horror, Vermis I builds an imaginary world of corrupted temples, poisonous forests, and decaying towns. Instead of walkthroughs and stats, the book offers maps, bestiary-like pages, and mysterious interface screens that hint at quests the reader can only reconstruct in their mind.
Across 128 pages, Vermis I moves through lost dungeons, forbidden woods, and derelict biomes populated with grotesque creatures and cursed items. Plastiboo uses the language of menus, inventory grids, and HUD elements to transform the familiar logic of games into a purely visual experience. The result is a self-contained universe that can feed tabletop campaigns, inspire drawing, or simply be read as a silent, fragmented narrative. This tenth Hollow Press printing keeps the original weird pocket format while preserving the dense, saturated colour that made the project a cult object for fans of underground worldbuilding.
Printed in full-colour offset and stitched in a slim 14×22 cm volume, Vermis I – Lost Dungeons and Forbidden Woods sits between artbook and manual, game and dream. For readers of Godhusk, Age of Rot, and other Hollow Press titles, Vermis I offers an early, defining entry into Plastiboo’s universe of haunted systems and broken games.

About Plastiboo
Plastiboo is a Spanish illustrator and game artist who merges horror, surrealism, and video game logic into dense visual worlds. Their drawings often resemble screenshots from impossible games: interfaces without clear rules, levels that never load, and characters stranded between bodies and icons. Working across books, zines, and digital projects, Plastiboo creates immersive universes filled with eerie creatures, derelict architectures, and philosophical undertones about memory, agency, and decay. Projects such as Vermis I – Lost Dungeons and Forbidden Woods and Godhusk – Rebirth have established Plastiboo as a key figure in contemporary dark-fantasy illustration and experimental game-adjacent art.
