Analog Photography and Ambient Sound in Dialogue
Lejos De La Tierra (Langt Fra Jorden) is the second book by Spanish photographer Irene Zottola, produced in collaboration with Copenhagen-based musician and collage artist øjeRum (Paw Grabowski). Initiated by IIKKI and developed between June and November 2024, the work is a sustained exchange between two distinct practices: Zottola's analog photography and øjeRum's ambient sound composition.
Forty-two photographs compose the book's visual sequence. Shot on analog film, they carry the grain and softness of a medium that resists precision — images of body, landscape, and memory that drift between documentary observation and collage. The sequence does not illustrate; it accumulates, building a dreamlike register in which fragments of the physical world become something less fixed.
The accompanying musical dialogue by øjeRum is available via Bandcamp. The book and the sound exist as parallel works: the Lejos De La Tierra book + vinyl bundle is also available for those who want both objects together. The sound release alone — Langt Fra Jorden by øjeRum — is available separately.
