About the Book
Started in 2016 when the artists lived together on Peaks Island off the coast of Maine—accessible only by boat—Sleep Creek uses the island’s boundary as a working perimeter. What began as a documentary of a piece of land and the stories of its inhabitants expanded to include autobiographical elements. Shot entirely in New England, the photographs hover between document and fiction: animals appear mostly when hunted; people negotiate an unapologetic existence and deep secrecy. The haunting images weave myth and symbol to confront the experiential, treating the region as a stage rather than a subject. Published by Void as an open-spine softcover (17 × 21.5 cm, 144 pp). Edition history: 1st print 1,250 copies (ISBN 9786188434158), 2nd print 2,000 copies (ISBN 9786185479060).

About the Author
Dylan Hausthor & Pia-Paulina Guilmoth are a collaborative duo working in the forests of the Northeastern United States. Their practice centers on photographic sequencing and bookmaking that blurs document and fiction. The pair began Sleep Creek while living on Peaks Island in Maine in 2016 and co-founded Wilt Press in 2015 to publish image-based narratives about place and myth.
