Grayworld — Sixth Edition by Tetsunori Tawaraya

Grayworld follows Scorpio, a lone transporter dispatched on a sixth mission into a hostile underground world. His objective: retrieve sacred bugs required to reinforce a cosmic barrier. The narrative moves through darkness, creatures, and obstruction — rendered entirely in silver ink on black paper, a printing approach that gives the work an atmosphere distinct from standard comics production. Published by Hollow Press in July 2024, this sixth edition continues the series in a 32-page stapled format on 140g PLIKE black stock, limited to 1000 copies.

The visual language draws on bio-mechanical imagery, sci-fi horror, and underground comics traditions. The silver-on-black printing is not incidental — it shapes how the imagery reads, flattening depth in some passages and intensifying line density in others. The result is a comic that functions as much as a printed object as it does a narrative work.
