Bartosz Zaskòrski – Polish Artist, Illustrator, Musician
Bartosz Zaskòrski is a Polish artist, illustrator, and musician whose work occupies the territory between grotesque comedy and postapocalyptic dread. His drawings return repeatedly to themes of decay, absurd love, and anthropomorphic horror — figures rendered with a deadpan precision that draws on Eastern European melancholy and surrealism in equal measure.
The thematic logic running through his publications is consistent: a world coming apart at the seams, populated by creatures that are neither fully human nor fully animal, caught in situations that are simultaneously bleak and faintly ridiculous. The humor is structural, not decorative — it emerges from the absurdity of the premise rather than from any softening of the subject matter.
Alongside his visual work, Zaskòrski performs as Mchy i Porosty, a lo-fi electronic music project whose sound shares something of the same atmosphere — sparse, textural, and resistant to easy categorization.
His publications sit across two areas of the Lokator100 catalogue: readers drawn to Experimental Comics will find the clearest thematic overlap, while those interested in Artbooks & Artist Publications will recognize the format sensibility. His work also shares audience territory with titles from Hollow Press.
